"If Frasier Crane lived in Seattle and were actually a real person, Lola is definitely where he would grab a bite with Niles and commit some kind of social faux pas. While it’s casual enough for a meal with your friends, it also somewhat upscale - the perfect kind of setting for your parents to meet your new significant other over some Mediterranean food (get the seasonal scramble at brunch and the lamb burger for dinner). Need to break the ice? Order the cinnamon doughnuts with vanilla bean mascarpone and fruit compote, and shove a whole one directly into your mouth. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE" - Aimee Rizzo
"Sometimes it’s nice to eat donuts at a sit-down restaurant instead of as a powdered sugar gremlin hunched over the sink. Lola in Belltown is where you can be classy with a pile of donut holes. During breakfast and weekend brunch, they serve miniatures fried to order and shaken in a paper bag of cinnamon sugar that coats every oiled-up surface. These are great as-is, but then they go and give you sides of vanilla mascarpone and jam to slather on your donuts like butter on a roll. You shouldn’t have a morning meal at Lola without these suckers." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

And if things get awkward, order the cinnamon donuts with vanilla bean mascarpone and fruit compote, and shove a whole one directly into your mouth. You can’t say the wrong thing if you’re too busy enjoying pristinely fried dough holes coated in warm baking spices." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
"The leather booths at this old-school Tom Douglas spot, attached to the Hotel Andra downtown, give the place a cozy, elevated diner feel which comes through in the menu. A Greek influence is evident in the mezze and kebabs, but the made-to-order donuts, served with mascarpone, are the real scene-stealers." - Jade Yamazaki Stewart, Sophie Grossman, Eater Staff
"If there’s one Tom Douglas spot that holds up to his 2012 heyday, it’s Lola. This Mediterranean restaurant has been around for years, and it’s still a great place for many a brunch situation—be it a casual meal with friends or a fateful meeting of your parents and new significant other over grilled octopus hash. Don’t miss the made-to-order donuts. " - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo
