"One of New York’s most iconic social watering holes is headed to Palm Beach: La Goulue will open a southern outpost at 288 South County Road this October in the space formerly occupied by Chez L’Epicier. The 110-seat room, decorated by owner Jean Denoyer, will be a replica of the New York restaurant down to the Majorelle chandeliers, pewter bar, oak paneling and brown banquettes. Having first opened in Manhattan in 1973 and recently moved into its latest location at 29 East 61st Street, the restaurant says many regulars with Palm Beach homes asked for a local outpost; managing partner Craig Pogson notes the site has lots of frontage, is close to the Breakers and is visible near the bridge. The new location will be open from noon to 11 p.m. seven days a week and will offer La Goulue’s signature dishes, including homemade foie gras terrine, cheese soufflé and steak tartare, along with unique seasonal specials, a larger bar area, additional private party space—and Pogson says they are doubling the bar because Palm Beach people love cocktails. This isn’t the first South Florida effort: La Goulue once had a location in Miami’s Bal Harbour Shops that closed in the summer of 2014." - Eater Staff
