"At the Shoppes at Carlsbad, I found a Carlsbad outpost of Red Chickz, a Los Angeles–based practitioner of Nashville hot chicken with an enormous TikTok following; the brand was founded in 2018 by Nima Christensen and Shawn Lalehzarian but this location will be operated by local brothers Mathew and Mark Shlemon (who also run Abbey’s Real Texas BBQ and the Philadelphia Sandwich Co.).
