"At Sonya Coté's farm and restaurant space, Eden East (755 Springdale Road, Govalle), I saw the centerpiece for this year's SXSW SouthBites Dinners: it hosts three main dinners during the interactive portion of the festival — an International Women’s Day dinner (March 9, 6:30 p.m.) that highlights women farmers around the world and the James Beard Foundation’s Women’s leadership programs; a Sustainable Dairy dinner (March 11, 6:30 p.m.) focused on dairy and featuring chefs Tiffany Derry, Fermín Núñez, Sonya Coté and Amy’s Ice Cream; and a Social Gastronomy/Waste Not dinner (March 12, 6:30 p.m.) showcasing ways to reduce food waste and the Social Gastronomy Movement with chefs Justin Yu, Carlos Garcia, Michael Fojtasek and Sonya Coté. Each dinner at Eden East is ticketed at $150, and the venue is described as Sonya Coté’s signature restaurant that sprouted from collaborative efforts among Austin food heroes to showcase the grower/chef partnership." - Erin Russell
