New Japanese-Style Listening Bar Harlan Records Opens in Former Bar Fluxus Space Downtown - Eater SF

"Harlan Records opened September 23, and manager and partner Will Herrera assures fans this bar is perfect for that Haruki Murakami-style experience of working through a glass of whiskey while listening to The Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds on repeat. The space, formerly Bar Fluxus, features almost 2,000 vinyl records and a range of high-end audio equipment. It has added more seating and tables, with live performances still on the calendar. The aesthetic is inspired by Japanese listening bars. Music-inspired cocktails and classics like negronis and dirty martinis are the main beverage options, with no food currently on the menu. In the future, they plan to partner with local food outposts for drop-off delivery options. The bar aims to highlight artists not getting radio play and host record releases and collector nights." - Paolo Bicchieri
