San Francisco’s Best New Restaurants, March 2025

"Ingi “Shota” Son, of Shota and Sushi Hashiri, just opened a major New Montgomery Street Japanese cafe and restaurant. For now, this is a destination for fans of dizzyingly good coffee drinks, with menu notes presented like bottles of wine, and elegant interior design. Currently, the bar and dinner menus are just winding up, with support from Intu-on Kornnawong, formerly of Jo’s Modern Thai. Once fully operational, Shoji aims to be the new anchor of the SoMa dining scene." - Paolo Bicchieri
