"Sunset Hill bar hoppers are about to get an intriguing new cocktail haunt. On April 29, Baker’s, focusing on high-end classic drinks, snacks with Northwest flavors, and an intimate vibe, will officially open on 32nd Avenue, across the street from neighborhood mainstay Ristorante Picolinos. The new drinks den is the brainchild of acclaimed bartender Brian Claudio Smith, and will feature cocktails such as the Bolivian Rose, a mix of a new Bolivian brandy called Singani 63, triple sec, and dry vermouth, along with a mezcal concoction with a dry sloe berry liqueur native to the Basque region of Spain. But one of the biggest initial draws may be the food, since Seattle restaurant luminary Matt Janke — of the iconic Matt’s in the Market and Lecosho — is contributing to the menu." - Gabe Guarente
