Local Foods’ Beloved Sandwiches Hit the Heights | Eater Houston

"Known for beloved sandwiches and healthy eats, this fifth Houston outpost occupies a 4,500-square-foot space at Heights Mercantile with table, booth, and bar seating. The focal point of the dining room is a Josper charcoal oven that showcases the grilling and smoking of proteins like beef, chicken, and fish. Executive chef Maria Gonzalez contributed new dishes: on the dinner menu, house-smoked salmon is paired with cucumbers marinated in orange blossom water, and glazed pork shoulder can be wrapped in fresh tortillas and topped with sesame-seasoned sprouts for an impromptu taco; brunch additions include a superfood-packed power bowl topped with goji berries, fruit, and “protein cashew cream,” plus vegan migas and a veggie-packed ricotta kugel. The location won’t initially serve alcohol (diners may BYOB or receive a couple of complimentary glasses of wine temporarily) and emphasizes nonalcoholic cocktails such as the Almost Spring, which mixes Seedlip Garden 108 with tonic, peas, and cucumbers.
