"Located on the Lower East Side (Orchard Street), this bubblegum-pink dessert bar was designed as an explicitly sex-positive, inclusive space; twin signs reading “Bite me!” and “Lick me!” mark the entrance, walls are hung with vintage and contemporary art of nudity and sex, and an upstairs seating area is lit by neon signs spelling seductive messages or outlining copulating figures. Launched with cupcakes, cookies, and waffles, the shop offers playful items like a nipple-ring cupcake and a “Slutty Cinnamon” waffle offered in cheeky shapes called “Dicky” and “Va-JayJay,” served on furniture decoupaged with erotic images. After opening in February, the owners began taking custom erotic-cake orders and quickly received roughly 100 requests; customers describe visits as liberating, normalizing conversations about bodies and sexuality, and a small act of resistance against political policing of bodies." - Ella Quittner, Evan Angelastro
