"Fittingly located in Fox Harbour, Nova Scotia, I found Fox Harb’r Resort to be a secret waiting to be told, sitting on 1,100 acres along the Northumberland Strait and managing to feel both vast and surprisingly intimate. Equal parts championship-golf getaway and luxury retreat, it offers sweeping Atlantic views, cozy yet varied accommodations across 88 ocean-view rooms (from Executive Suites with king bedrooms, adjoining staterooms with fireplaces, and bathrooms with therapeutic tubs and walk-in showers, to Studio Suites with queen beds, desks, walk-in showers and balconies overlooking the Strait, plus Golf Manor Suites and Classic Rooms), heated granite floors and top-tier linens. The property leans into an old-school country-club vibe—dark wood, leather-bound chairs, a touch of plaid—and massive windows that frame fairways and ocean like photos; it feels less like a hotel and more like a private club guests get to temporarily call their own. Dining is a highlight: Cape Cliff Dining Room focuses on fresh, sustainable Nova Scotia seafood (dinner calls for collared shirts and dress shoes), while The Willard serves seafood chowder, burgers, craft beers and cocktails after activities; in-room dining is available and the on-site vineyard (Nova Scotia’s second-largest single-block planting) produces sparkling, white, red, fortified and dessert wines with tastings led by a sommelier. Activities are abundant: championship golf, sport shooting, axe throwing, archery, kayaking, hiking, biking, pontoon tours and private 62-foot yacht cruises, plus pickleball, tennis, horseshoes, lawn games, indoor board games and an award-winning spa and wellness center.
