"A blocks-from-Stanford boutique hotel housed in the restored early-1900s President Hotel, recently reopened in 2023 after an extensive renovation that preserved exterior details, the main staircase and front hall while updating most interiors. The design nods to California throughout — a lobby gallery wall of vintage California artwork, a signature communal wooden table, and a custom tapestry that references the building’s past — and the 100 guest rooms are styled to feel like a cozy home with Stanford-themed memorabilia, C-house pillows, Redwood-inspired wallpaper and wooden headboards, Spanish-influenced bathrooms, and pink velvet couches. Some rooms on the Stanford-facing side offer romantic Juliette balconies. Onsite amenities and services include an all-day ground-floor restaurant, the hotel’s rooftop bar and garden terrace (the only rooftop bar in the area), pet-friendly accommodations, complimentary Wi-Fi, housekeeping, bike rentals, and special local fitness rates; typical room rates start around $250 per night."
