Nai Tapas Bar - Review - East Village - New York - The Infatuation

"The original Nai Tapas was in a long, narrow room on First Avenue between 10th and 11th. But that location closed, and now Nai is back in a bigger two-story space on Second Avenue. Other than the increase in square footage, this place is substantially the same. The food is still a mix of things like sautéed shrimp, patatas bravas, and pork belly with carrot purée, and ranges from perfectly decent to mildly disappointing. For $18.50, for example, you can get two very small pieces of sea bass wrapped in toast with a few twigs of asparagus on top. The dish itself isn’t bad, but it’ll probably make you wonder why didn’t just go to Huertas, a few blocks away, instead. Nai does, however, have live flamenco on Thursdays and Saturdays, and there’s a $55 prix fixe that includes unlimited sangria. So if you’re celebrating something with a group, and you all just want to drink a lot of sugary wine and share a bunch of things, this place is a solid option." - Bryan Kim
