Hetman Fine Foods Deli

Deli · Ridgewood

"Hetman Polish Deli and Foods makes exceptional use of their limited square footage. Every single inch of the Ridgewood convenience store is covered in Polish chips, cookies, buckwheat flakes, cappuccino-flavored pudding mix, and more. There’s also a refrigerated case up front with sausages and tubs of tuna salad, but the main event is hidden in the back, where you’ll find a counter with trays of stuffed cabbage, bean stew, and springy, fist-sized Silesian dumplings. For $20, you can get a feast—one that should involve an order of pierogies. On your way out, grab a brick-sized slice of the house-baked layer cake." - Bryan Kim
