"How do you know when a piece of internet slang is dead? A good indicator might be when a restaurant starts using it on its menu. Bardonna, another Santa Monica cafe jumping on the healthy-things-in-bowls trend, features “Squad Bowls,” “Sand Wizards,” and other harbingers of the apocalypse. Those who don’t run instantly after reading the dish names (and who are okay with forking over $14 for a bowl of quinoa) will find that the food is fresh, but not incredibly flavorful. If you just started the Whole30 diet and need somewhere to eat after your mid-afternoon Meditation for Weight Loss class, you’ve been going to Bardonna since it opened and don’t need this review.
