Gramercy Review - Santa Monica - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Gramercy is a neighborhood bar on a section of Wilshire that's an ideal place to stop and wait out traffic if you're heading east from Santa Monica. The Happy Hour drinks are cheap (plus, there’s a late-night version with $2 PBRs), and the bartenders won’t bother you unless you look like you want a conversation. The Sriracha wings or a flatbread are your best bet if you’re hungry." - Brett Keating

Food was excellent. Good portion sizes. Nice presentation. Highlights were the harissa lamb tartare, chicken tikka, and the sweet corn ravioli. The Brussels sprouts were the one thing that were a little disappointing - not crispy and flavor was just eh. Recommend getting the naan if you do the chicken tikka so you have something to dip in the sauce. Cocktails were great as well. Nice cocktail menu and well executed drinks. Only reason for the lower rating was for service. Server himself was great - knowledgeable about the menu, friendly. Issue was timing - they took forever coursing out the items. We got there at 6:00 and by 8:45, we still hadn’t gotten all of our dishes - we ended up cancelling the last few items and skipped dessert since it took so long.

I would give it 3.5 stars if possible. Based on the reviews, high expectations and price point, it left a little bit to be desired. After we were seated, no one came by for a full 10 minutes (this was at 7pm on a Saturday and it wasn't overly busy). For appetizers we ordered the mussels and the spicy yellowtail on crispy rice. The mussels were excellent with a delicious broth. The yellowtail was overpowered by the crispy rice and other seasonings. We shared the grilled octopus and it was overcooked/chewy and pretty bland. We also ordered the scallops which were pretty good and well prepared and tasty. The Japanese Cesar salad tasted off so we didn't eat it (our server was apologetic and took it off the bill without us asking). We ended with the lamb chops which were good and prepared well but the carrots tasted odd. Our server was nice, just maybe overwhelmed a bit and then drinks were good. It just fell short given the price point.

On the newer side, this restaurant does not disappoint. The food and drinks are delicious and the interior and decor are stunning. Highly recommend for your next date night!

Google
For the price, the food isn’t their. Boar Ragu, good, very sweet. Lemon Ricotta Gnocchi, good, lemony Truffle Fries, cold, they seem like frozen fries and for 19 bucks this is very over priced for what it is. A beautiful restaurant, nice server, no issue with walk in at late lunch.

I was invited to this new place for dinner with old friends. It was an amazing feast. We ordered all the best items from the menu. The drinks were strong and the dishes were excellent. We really enjoyed the duck, the steak, and the halibut. It was nearly fully packed on a Wednesday evening.

I don’t usually like coconut milk, but the sea bass with coconut milk was superb.

Went to Chelsea’s on Saturday evening to have dinner with friends, and glad we did. Chelsea’s is a wonderful spot. We had excellent food and service. We made reservations and recommend you do the same, as it can get busy quickly. Some of our favorites of the evening were the burrata salad, lobster sliders, sea bass, duck, and ravioli. Variety of menu options that are sure to please everyone. Valet parking is offered ($15), although not necessary as there is plenty of parking in the area. The atmosphere is casual, with a dress code of date night attire to jeans and a sweater. Flip flops nor shorts are appropriate. I look forward to coming here again.

I had inquired via email with Wally for a team work dinner after an onsite about the menu options for a group of ~20. He responded extremely quickly and sent plenty of pre fixe menus over with variety and was able to accommodate vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free teammates' dietary preferences. Wally was super great to work with and understanding when we had a few people drop out due to last minute changes. We had 2 tables in the main dining room, and our servers Alex and Carl were fantastic! I didn't take photos of the food, but everything looked pretty and the portions were generous! We rolled in around 5pm for our reservation, and everyone had time to settle in, order beverages, and a set menu plus choice of entree later on. Some team members really enjoyed their beverages such as the American Samurai, Chelsea Manhattan, and Early Fog while I got a hot chamomile tea. Alex was extremely attentive at our table even while the main dining room got busy. We were never rushed, and for such a large group, him and Carl got the dishes out and cleared as fast as they could for the next courses. Carl patiently thought about and explained when I asked if there was egg in all the desserts since a teammate wasn't eating egg that day. It's been a while since I've eaten somewhere with warm, friendly service of such high caliber! My favorites were the sweet corn ravioli, crispy squash blossoms, Kung Pao brussels sprouts, escargot stuffed mushrooms, NZ sea bass, and lobster linguine. We shared everything except chose entrees (and even shared those), and there was SO much food! My vegan teammate who doesn't even like cauliflower steak normally said it was delicious! We were all stuffed by the time the last courses and dessert came, but we loved the intimate setting and cool decor. You almost felt like you were somewhere else instead of Santa Monica (West London, perhaps?), and we all had a great time chatting after our work event!

Yelp
chelsea offers amazing an happy hour on tue-fri 4-6pm (4-5pm for oyster hh) ~Food~ shades of pink $12: very strong rosemary scent from the garnish. gin compliments the fruitiness of the drink well aloe & behold $12: cucumber overpowered the drink a bit too much but still delicious half dozen oysters $12: amazing oysters! very creamy with the perfect amount of saltiness. it was so good we ordered another dozen kimchi & peach grilled cheese $14: surprisingly enjoyed this dish more than i expected! peach and kimchi went well together and i love the marinara that came with it ahi tartar tacos $16: good but such small portions. not worth overall a solid place with great ambiance. would love to come back for their regular menu ~Service: friendly service, nothing out of the ordinary ~Parking: street parking

Yelp
Chelsea was fantastic! So good in so many ways. All of the savory dishes were spectacular. We had the harissa lamb tartare, short rib cappalletti, spring risotto, and hoisin pork chop. Every one of them fantastic. Their menu is one of the best I've seen in some time, innovative combinations of ingredients and flavors you won't find elsewhere. And these novel combinations work very well. The one sour note was the dessert "polenta cake", which was flat out bad. Similar to cornbread, but dry as sawdust. I mentioned it to staff and was told 1) they've been told this before but have not removed it from the menu, and 2) it is their attempt at providing a gluten free option, therefore difficult to pull off. If it is a gluten free option, that should be clearly noted on the menu, which it is not. That said, on the whole, the meal was a delight. Cozy ambience, friendly service and fantastic food. I can hardly wait to return and sample the rest of the menu!

Yelp
They opened it's doors in May. It's New American cuisine mixed with flavors from India, East Africa and London. What I loved about our dinner is the variety of flavors through each dish. You experience Indian spices in the Black Lentils. At least three of our dishes had coconut milk as a base. The mussels were embedded in green curry, which had a mild spice to it. Here is what we ordered: Cocktails AMERICAN SAMURAI / 19 olive oil washed vodka, yuzu, lime, arugula Bramber Mocktail Appetizers ESCARGOT STUFFED MUSHROOMS / 24 pecorino polenta (allow 15 mintues) YELLOWTAIL & WATERMELON SASHIMI / 22 chili oil, ponzu, onion, serrano SALT SPRING MUSSELS / 24 thai green curry, grilled bread GRILLED OCTOPUS / 24 cilantro taters, chipotle aioli, salsa negra Black Lentils Vegan Indian Spice and Cocomut Milk Entree LOBSTER LINGUINI / 31 squid ink linguini, leeks, peas, scallions, lobster sauce NEW ZEALAND SEABASS / 36 baby bok choy, white rice, coconut lemongrass broth Steak Frites $68 16 oz. prime bone in new york, cognac peppercorn sauce, fries Dessert RICOTTA CHEESECAKE / 15 blackberry & rosemary compote Come on in and give them a try. I know I'll be back.

Yelp
Whoa! Chelsea is a must have! What a fantastic dining experience! This quaint eatery in Santa Monica is serving up quality food and cocktails. We had to try a little bit of everything! I really appreciate the amount of seafood on the menu. It's prepared right and every bite better than the last! The drinks are full 2 oz spirit pours that are well balanced and get you there fast! The waitstaff rivals any 5-star fine dining establishment in the city. Make a reservation today for a lovely experience at Chelsea!

Yelp
Loved this place! It's a large space has a big beautiful bar and even has two private dining rooms, but it Feels so cozy and comfortable. The table are not all on top of each other and you have privacy to have a conversation with out tour neighbor table listening tonyour entire conversation, lol. The menu is great and the vibe very casual but the service is top notch. For the food I'd recommend everything on the raw bar and the mussels are so good too. I recommend saving room for dessert because you'll need to get both the turnovers and the cookies. They're absolute musts! Oh and you're just looking for a place to get drinks. This is definitely the place you should know they have 2 oz pours the drinks are boozy but balanced, very good drinks.

Yelp
Chelsea has been hands down one of the best meals I've had in 2024. Me and some friends came here to try it out for the first time during dineLA and it did not disappoint. Every dish that we ordered was amazing, shareable, and instagrammable. Stand-out dishes where they're coconut broth mussels, masala fried Chicken, and their chocolate matcha cake. We tried a variety of their drinks and each one was delicious and strong. Highly recommend Chelsea for a special dinner, date night or just a good meal. We have an ambition to come back and try more of their menu items, since every single dish that we had during our visit was the 10 out of 10.

Yelp
Overall: a nice date spot with intimate atmosphere. Food was hit or miss, especially given the price. Food: 3/5 I ordered the steak at a medium rare and received a cook closer to medium on every part except the bit closer to the bone (since it was bone in). Shoestring fries were a pain to eat (though others might find it nice so not deducting for that) Sashimi with watermelon was a nice and refreshing take. Would've preferred the jalapeños to be deseeded since their spiciness overpowered the dish. Ravioli with corn and curry had soft pillows of pasta (perfectly al dente) enveloped in a creamy curry. I think we had 4 pieces of ravioli and wanted more. Service: 5/5 Quick, responsive and attentive. Ambiance: 4/5 Intimate and dimly lit, music perhaps a tad loud.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks! The ceviche was a standout. Loved the Shades of Pink cocktail. The flavors were bold and exciting. The service (shoutout to Manok!) was fantastic and this place is perfect for a date night or a friends get together. Will be coming back again!

Yelp
New restaurant fine tuning its identity. The good: Sweet corn ravioli was very tasty as it had some green curry sauce that elevated the dish The bad: The naan wasn't good. Also presented incorrectly with top facing down. I know it doesn't mean much but shows that they really didn't know what naan was. Lobster sandwich was out of place in the menu The alright: Everything else was good. Sashimi with watermelon was refreshing. Sea-bass was ok but since we had the ravioli it was too similar. The menu was a fun take, I hope they keep switching it up else it'll be a fail. I will comeback to try some items we just didn't get to as it was a great neighborhood dinner joint.

Yelp
We stopped in here to check out this new spot. Wow! The ambience was really wonderful. The bartender's name was Alex, and he was extremely knowledgeable about cocktails, flavors and combining ingredients. He was trying out a couple new recipes and allowed us to try them. They were all fantastic. Alex knows his stuff, and is super cool and friendly. The exact kind of bartender you want to have at any restaurant. The decor inside is really well done. The lighting is really nice, and the whole place just feels very cozy and inviting. The staff are all very cool, welcoming, and professional. We didn't have a full meal, but we got the Watermelon and Tomato Burrata. It was excellent. This is an incredible drink and dining experience. I really wish this team success. They have what it takes. P.S. They are not associated with Fía. Many people coming in asked that question, so it's worth sharing. They have a similar aesthetic and commitment to the culinary arts, but they are separate from the Fía group.

Yelp
I picked this place for my birthday dinner without having been here before based off of the stellar reviews. Parking was easy to find on the side streets and they also offer valet. Our servers, Eric & Alex, were super nice and attentive. The ambiance is gorgeous, moody lighting with elevated decor that really makes it feel like a date night spot. On to food... The albacore ceviche is INCREDIBLE!! Fresh and light, it is definitely a must try. Everything else, however, was just pretty good. Nothing else really stood out. I had the boar ragu, which was probably the best pasta I tried, but don't think I'd order it again. We also had a situation with the fries, for some reason they came out plain, and when we asked why our server brought the truffle back on a side plate? Eric was able to fix this for us and brought out a new side of fries with the pecorino and truffle on top, which was appreciated. At the end they asked if we'd like dessert and presented a few options, however we were pretty full and nothing really tickled our fancy so we passed. They then brought a single candle out on a plate?? We had a good laugh about it, however if the intention was to provide a free bday dessert so they could bring it out with the candle it would've been nice if they'd said that. Eric stepped in again to save the day and brought out a round of champagne, which was sweet and appreciated. Overall, definitely not a bad dining experience but really not a standout one either. I would probably return to try other menu items and see if that'd redeem this place to make it into my rotation!

Yelp
I had a wonderful birthday dinner at Chelsea this past weekend. They put us in a private room for our party of 8 that was so comfortable with cushy chairs and a bench side covered in pillows. Our waitress was very attentive, and the water was replenished frequently. I loved the interesting Indian food twist on American dishes and couldn't get enough of the appetizers, medium plates, and sides. My chicken tikka masala main was a juicy piece of chicken with great flavor on the sauce and sides. They were kind enough to cut the pies for us that my family had brought as a birthday dessert and even comped the slicing fee. I look forward to a return visit!

Yelp
Moez and Karim have done it again! Having been to a few of their other sister restaurants, I can confidently say they just keep upping their game. Our meal at Chelsea was a culinary journey, each dish surpassing the last in flavor and creativity. We started off with the naan, served with a delectable chili sauce and raita - so good! The yellowtail & watermelon sashimi paired with chili oil and fresh serrano peppers was a refreshing and unique combination that I loved. The half dozen oysters, particularly the Fanny Bays, were impressively huge and flavorful. The lobster sliders were a standout, with the crispiness of the lobster perfectly complemented by the sweet Hawaiian roll and a touch of truffle aioli. For entrees, we had the short rib capeletti in a veal demi-glaze (not pictured), but an absolute must try! The tikka masala fried chicken served over garlic mashed potatoes was a delightful fusion, and the sweet corn & ricotta ravioli in a Thai green curry was probably my favorite dish of the night. We ended our meal with some delicious desserts, and throughout the evening, the service was impeccable. The ambiance is trendy and upscale, making it ideal for a girl's night out or a romantic dinner. I can't wait for them to open up their patio, so we'll definitely be back soon to enjoy the outdoor seating and summer vibes. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My husband and I were in town from San Diego and really enjoyed our dinner. Server, owner and bartender are very, very nice! Food excellent. Boar ragu and chicken tikka was delicious. Oh and get the peanut butter turnover. Life changing!

Yelp
What a fantastic place, we found it totally randomly as our initial choice was close on Sundays. We headed there Sunday night then, the place is so well decorated, it s already a 5 stars for atmosphere/decoration. We got the squash blossoms, the burger, the lobster linguine and the matcha chocolate cake... All incredibly delicious, and priced decently. The service was great too... We would go back there for sure, we want to try everything now... The fries are pricy not sure why though (the burger doesn't come with fries). So we skipped the fries.

Yelp
Perfect spot for a date night, the seating area is cozy and intimate, the cocktails are super creative, served by the barman itself. As for the food, it was excellent, shoutout to the lamb tartare starter which was to die for. Overall a great experience, enhanced by the kindness of the waiters and staff.

Yelp
LITERALLY OBSESSED!!! Love everything about this new spot! The staff, the food, the drinks, the design! I feel like I just had such a wonderful experience! We got the fried chicken and the rib eye... HITS! I will be dreaming about this food forever! Also the squash blossoms were to die for!! The owner was just a doll! And I will be recommending this place to everyone now!

Yelp
While driving in Santa Monica, we unexpectedly discovered this hidden gem. The moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the exquisite ambience and elegant seating, providing a fine dining experience. Our server was attentive, guiding us through the menu and offering great suggestions. Following his recommendations, we thoroughly enjoyed dishes like the yellowtail, corn ricotta, Seabass, steak frites, and fried chicken tikka masala. Trying escargot for the first time was definitely the highlight of our dinner.

Yelp
The food was amazing! The ambience was perfect for a date night and the service was great. Our favorite was the Tikki Massala dish.

Yelp
The place looked promising in the reviews and website design. But our experience was lackluster. Reservations can be made via Resy, there is a cancellation fee associated. We went in on a weekend night with reservations and had to move it a bit because of traffic. They're good about answering calls and helping accommodate such changes within reason. There's a lot of free street parking in the evening and it's easy access, with washrooms available. The main dining area with bar looks good but we were unfortunately seated in the more private area with three tables, where the AC was blasting. On request, they heated it up a bit which we truly appreciated. The menu looked promising, had a bunch of vegetarian and pescatarian friendly options. We ordered the naan (tastes average but came piping hot, why is bread in the title!), squash blossoms (never came ), sweet corn agnoloti (decent), and matcha cake (skip dessert, this was not like a cake at all, more like steamed batter, flavors in dish don't work well), and sampled some - shades of pink (tastes like an average margarita - skip), geri halliwell (underwhelming), and early fog (forgot to serve it and when they did, very eggy). Food was a huge let down, taste and quality wise. Until the order was placed and during billing is the only time we saw our server around. It's not an issue however we were served brussel sprouts in place of squash blossoms and wanted to convey or correct it, since we didn't see our server around, we spoke to someone else and asked to take it off. The bill still incorrectly showed it. They were nice about correcting it. Overall service isn't an issue at all. People are very approachable, but everything can only do so much when the food doesn't live up to standard.

Yelp
Delicious meal. Food is a great fusion of Eurasian. Wally, the manager, was an absolute treat to be around. Ambiance was great.

Yelp
Chelsea had only been open two weeks when we came in, so I was expecting they would still be finding their way, and was prepared to give them grace to do that. No need - they have their act together. Service is top-notch. Flavors are the stuff of dreams. Ambience is the first thing you notice here. Old-world charm, updated for Los Angeles - love it! We started with the Mushroom Toast ($22). It is on the Veggies section of the menu, but it more an appetizer than a vegetable side dish. If you are a mushroom lover, and I am, this the dish to get! Generous portion of Chantarelle & Button mushrooms, piled high on a small round of Sourdough toast, and topped with a crispy poached egg. Before you open it, the egg is reminiscent of a Scotch egg. Perfect appetizer for two to share. This was my favorite dish of the night. The Sweet Corn and Ricotta Ravioli ($22) is so unusual because who has ever thought to put a ravioli in a Thai green curry sauce? It works! A magical combination. Just 4 large ravioli, so make sure it not the only dish you order, but with another small dish, a perfect dinner. For a main, we split the Tikka Masala Fried Chicken ($31). The flavors in this dish make you want to lick the plate! A little too spicy for this spice-wimp to eat much of, but hands-down delicious. Next time will try the Naan bread - it looks so pillowy! My only negative is that the tables are so close together. But I understand that with restaurant profit margins so tight, they probably need to.

Yelp
Saw them on Eater & was SO excited to try this place! Santa Monica needs more restaurants with flavor/spices in my opinion! My friend & I shared the following- Harissa lamb tartare- This came on a bed of polenta and was SO delicious, the perfect starter Squash blossoms- One of my favorites! It also came on some kind of curry which was packed with flavor, perfectly spiced and balanced Tikka masala fried chicken- I'm Indian so obviously I had to get this, & I must say it was great! The chicken was fried perfectly, loved the mashed potatoes and kale, the tikka sauce was tangy and very tasty. A really unique dish, I can see why it's the most popular Sweet corn and ricotta ravioli- Also a favorite, you know how sometimes you want your pasta to have a kick? This is exactly that- it's as if thai curry and alfredo sauce had a baby We both had a glass of red wine and the matcha cake for dessert, their wine list is nothing crazy in my opinion and desserts could be a little more creative, especially given how great their food is. I think it'll probably take some more time before they focus on those 2 things but the food is AMAZING, great service, a lovely romantic ambience for a date night or GNO. Tons of street parking and valet is also an option-can't wait to watch Chelsea thrive!

Yelp
The food and service are amazing! We had the ceviche (generous portions of fish and delicious broth), sweet corn and ricotta ravioli, fried squash blossom and curry sea bass. ALL were delicious. Natalie our server made our experience so comfortable. The servers never let our Water Glasses get empty and switch plates out between each dish. We loved the ambience. We had the Matcha cake with chocolate ganache which was phenomenal. Stop what you're doing and come to Chelseas!

Yelp
I decided to take myself out to a nice and intimate birthday dinner and wanted to try something new. After doing some research on Yelp, I decided to try this place out. I made an early reservation (Resy gave me either a 5 pm or 8 pm service, since they didn't do any reservations in between) and I was surprised that I was the only person in the dining room (along with 3 people at the bar). My assumption was that since it was on a weekday, it would be slow. It ended up filling to the brim by 6 pm, which was actually neat! The dining room is small and intimate with gorgeous colorful interior. I can definitely appreciate the way that the space was laid out! There was also an outdoor patio, but there was a private party that was booked out that day. I got seated by the host (Justin) in a cute corner and was excited to see what was in store. My server, Manuk (sp?) was SUCH a sweetheart. I appreciated his patience and he gave me some excellent recommendations for wine pairing with the food I ordered. He also was so accommodating and replaced the kale with roasted carrots to compliment my Chicken Tikka Masala. He truly was a kind and funny (and witty!) server. The food is SO GOOD. I started with the albacore ceviche and it was so refreshing and the perfect appetizer! The chicken tikka masala was lovely as well. I enjoyed the different flavors from the creamy mashed potatoes to the spices in the tikka masala. The chocolate matcha cake was such an amazing way to end my birthday dinner and the unique flavors really made it special. The wine was also very delicious! TLDR: if you like small intimate spaces with a beautiful interior and love experimenting with different flavors (with food and drinks!), Chelsea is the spot. I'll definitely be back :)

Yelp
What a delightful place I went for Mother's Day dinner! It was a bit hard to find coz there is no conspicuous signage outside yet. We were greeted with an enthusiastic team of people. It was a quiet night for them, only a few tables. Happen to find out they only opened for a week or so. What a lovely decor! Very French with some French music in the beginning and then went on to something else. But we love the atmosphere. Elevated without being stuffy. The bar looks nice but we sat at a booth. Good for single or couples if you want a more casual time. We ordered a few things: escargot with polenta. Lobster sliders as appetizers. The escargot dish was very fragrant with garlic and butter. The toasted baguette is crunchy. My mom loved it. My lobster slider did not disappoint. The lobster is slightly deep fried and with the soft bun and it is sooooo good. I can have another order easily. For entree my mom had the risotto. Flavor is great but a little too brothy, not creamy enough. There is room for improvement. I had the sea bass with coconut and lemongrass. It was excellent. Maybe a little more salt than what I would like but that sauce was heavenly. We ended with a ricotta cheesecake which we were both really full, but still finished coz it was good. It's a bit far from where I live but we will still come back and try more.

Yelp
Came in after reading a nice profile from the LA Eater site -- and we were not disappointed. Lots of wood and leather with perfect lighting and comfortable seats. As for the food we shared: - Mushroom Toast - Ravioli w/ riccotta and sweet corn - Fried Chicken Tikka Masala w/ kale and mash. (a WOW dish!) All three were excellent -- with that chicken being the standout as it comes on the bone so it's nice and juicy -- not the traditional fried chicken you're used to. The larger, front room can be a be loud (as it was a full house on a recent Saturday night). We were seated in one of the two smaller side rooms which leaves you EXTREMELY close to the other diners - about a foot away. It felt like the couple next to us was part of our party and we heard every word of their conversation. I understand they have to maximize profits and use all the space -- but I don't have to like it. Maybe if you are a party of four or more and were in the bigger room it would be a better experience. Despite that -- the food was top notch and creative -- so maybe we'll try again when it's not so busy and see if there is a more private table.

Yelp
Chelsea's Burrata is nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. The creamy, luscious burrata serves as the perfect canvas for a vibrant medley of heirloom tomatoes and plums. Each bite bursts with the sun-kissed sweetness of the tomatoes, balanced beautifully by the subtle tartness of the plums. But what truly sets this dish apart are the polenta croutons. These golden, crispy delights add an unexpected twist, providing a satisfying crunch that complements the creamy burrata and juicy tomatoes perfectly. Overall, Chelsea's Burrata is a harmonious blend of flavors and textures, showcasing a thoughtful balance of ingredients that make every bite an experience to savor. It's a must-try for anyone looking to indulge in a refined, yet comforting dish.

Yelp
Go out of your way to be a regular at this place while you still can, so that you have some pull to get a table when the place is packed. The owners have knocked the cover off the ball creating a space that has a good vibe without being pretentious, an interesting menu that doesn't overcomplicate, and an experience that just feels good. Make sure you order the olives, yellowtail, short rib cappaletti, beets, squash blossoms, scalloped sweet potato, corn ravioli, and agnolotti. Yes, we literally ordered half the menu and enjoyed every bit of it. We will be back soon.

Yelp
The service was top notch - the tables were close together but it wasn't a problem for us (granted I had come early at 5pm). The Albacore Ceviche was nice - the onion and coconut kept it light and refreshing. The Crispy Lobster Sliders were tough, small, and a little bland - not worth the $24. The Lobster Linguini likewise had tough lobster and was quite watery. The Tikka Masala Fried Chicken wasn't bad - with mash potato to soak up the rich curry, but the chicken wasn't anything special. I wouldn't disuade anyone who wants to eat here - and it may be that I had gone close to when the officially opened, but I won't be trying Chelsea again for a while. One thing to note - it did seem like a lot of friends and family of the owners dined there.

Yelp
Go once: Yes, particularly if you like Indian flavors. Go again: Definitely. We tried a number of dishes at Chelsea. Most of the dishes were tasty, but some just missed the mark - the scalloped potatoes and lentils, unfortunately. On the other hand, the burrata and the squash blossoms were perfect, and so were our drinks. The menu is a bit unexpected in that it is just trying to combine interesting and delicious flavors as opposed to sticking to any specific type of cuisine. The use of Indian spices felt the most prominent and well balanced. This place was on my "to try" list, and I'm glad that we did. We'll be back!

Yelp
Liked the ambience but food is too pricey for what you get. Service was good. Parking is tough

Yelp
Really liked everything about our evening. Greeted by the owner and his father, nice touch. Our server ( Alison) was an added bonus for sure, helpful navigation of the menu and genuinely a great resource. A small space but not noisy more intimate.. our food was very good, can't think of why I wouldn't recommend! ! The lamb tartare was really good, loved the corn ravioli with curry sauce. Will look forward to our next visit.

Yelp
Fire!!! And not only because of the name. The menu seems to be tailored specifically to me and all of my favorite foods. It's an interesting blend of cuisines and flavors but it works. The ceviche was TO DIE FOR I was eating the sauce with a spoon. The tikki masala was another favorite as well as the sea bass. They didn't miss. The service was also great, our server was very kind and casual (we had some midwestern roots in common) and the owner was coming around and chatting with people. Loved the decor and ambiance as well, though it was very dark haha. I want to come back here and try the whole menu. Mark my words

Yelp
So happy to have this relatively new addition to Santa Monica! The menu caught my eye, and the food did not disappoint. We loved the fun spin on many "classic" American dishes. We went for the tikka masala fried chicken, which was flavorful and crispy (and apparently also gluten free?), but we thoroughly enjoyed everything else too, from the ceviche to the lobster sliders to dessert.

Yelp
So happy with this restaurant. The ambiance is amazing. The food was all delicious. Loved the oysters, sea bass, chicken, beets, burgers, and deserts. Our waitress was super nice and very helpful with recommendations. For having a party of 11 they were very timely with all the food. I would come back here again! I forgot to take pictures of the food. Trust me, it's great.

Yelp
Such a pleasant surprise. Something unique and truly phenomenal. We were lucky that the night we went the whole family who owns the restaurant was there and wow are they so lovely. The decor is amazing and the food is even better. An absolute neighborhood gem that we will be returning to often. Wally the GM is awesome! Kareeem and his family have made something really special here!

Yelp
We had a spectacular meal last night and our server Allison went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. She recommended the Lobster sliders to start and a wonder white wine which we enjoyed throughout the meal. The albacore cerviche was one of the best cerviche I have ever had anywhere. And the boar ragu pasta was divine. But the Tikka Massala Chicken was the most delicious presentation of chicken imaginable. We also loved the desert Allison suggested which was an unusual take on peanut butter and whipped cream and fresh berries. Just a delightful way to end the perfect night. Can't wait to return and try more of their innovative dishes.

Yelp
My wife and I have been twice for happy hour now. We enjoyed our drinks and the happy hour food but we decided to order a Japanese Ceaser off the regular menu for $18 and the portion size was way to small for a salad with no protein and costing that much. It was barely what I would consider enough for one person...

Yelp
Fairly new and a great addition to the Santa Monica dining scene. It's away from downtown and the beach and while close, It's thankfully not part of the Montana scene. The menu is is quite sophisticated and very creative. We went for drinks and will be back for dinner soon! We had naan served with chili sauce, yellowtail & watermelon sashimi and lobster sliders. Each was better than the next! AND I understand that they are opening a outdoor space soon - yay.

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner there and we both agree the food was delicious the ambiance was very nice, a bit dark (light wise) for my taste, but very comfortable. The food was amazing, we had the yellowtail sashimi with watermelon (highly recommend it), and the burrata with pistachios crumbs, as appetizers. Very delicious. For main dishes we shared the boar ragu and the lobster linguine. The boar ragu reminded me of similar dish I had in Chianti. Our server was very kind, pleasant , and most importantly attentive. Overall, a great dining experience!

Yelp
My girlfriends and I visited Chelsea last night for a weeknight dinner. The service and ambiance were great and the dishes were quite flavorful. However, I found the menu not to be very cohesive and I don't find myself dying to go back. What we ordered: - albacore ceviche: would recommend this dish, a light dish but packed with a punch of flavors - japanese caesar: you can skip, I found this to be more like a typical caesar and the yuzu flavor to be extremely light. I found myself searching for it and wanting more of that brightness - naan: you can skip this dish. It's not super well executed and the sauces as a bit flat - tikka masala fried chicken: would recommend, an interesting fusion of indian and american classics - sweet corn and ricotta ravioli: would recommend, this was served with a thai green curry sauce. - squash blossoms: you can skip, nothing special and if you order the tikka masala chicken then you get a taste of their curry!

Yelp
Great coffee, food and people. A treasure just down the street from our hotel so we walked there every morning.

Yelp
Chelsea is what Santa Monica has been missing! It's the perfect date night (or girls night) spot. Cozy, yet intimate, with good vibes all around. The staff is top notch and the service is what you would expect at any fine dining establishment. The menu truly has something for everyone's palette. My husband and I ordered: - Albacore ceviche served with corn chips - Grilled Octopus - Japanese Caesar salad - Lobster linguini As for drinks, my husband ordered the smoked Manhattan (and, yes, it's actually served smoked!) and I ordered the Gerri Halliwell. Both unique and perfect complements to our meal. Make sure to leave room for dessert - especially the legendary chocolate peanut butter turnover! I can't wait to come back and sample the rest of the menu!

Yelp
One of the worst restaurants I've eaten at in a long time. I made myself throw up after eating here. Service and ambience were great. But quality of food and the price point really ruined happy hour and restaurants in SM for me. For $12 you get 1 egg roll, for $11 you get 4 potato balls (tater tots). Oysters were old and smelled like crap. Both the wife and I got food poisoning. Do your self a grand favor and skip this place.

Yelp
From the owners of Wood and Water, they did it again. The food and service were amazing. Shout out to Carl our waiter who took really good care of us. Everything we had was very tasty and cooked to perfection. Our appetizers which consisted of the Escargot stuffed mushrooms, Olives with Feta, Japanese Caesar salad and the Burrata were all delicious. For our entrees we had the Pork Chop, Ribeye, Sea bass and Risotto. They were all amazing. Oh yeah, the drinks were also great. Will be back for sure to try the other dishes we didn't have.
