Mama Chavez's Tamales & More

"At this Belltown walk-up window, you’ll find dishes like tacos, tamales (with lard-free options), and burritos. While the tacos are pretty lackluster, the rajas tamales stuffed with crispy and salty cheese fillings and big chunks of spicy jalapenos are satisfying. Or if you are looking for a meat option, the rojo pollo filling works too, although the masa can be a bit crumbly. The food is not so amazing that we’d go out of our way to stop by for lunch or dinner. But in a neighborhood that lacks a lot of late-night options, we’d come here instead of hitting the fast food drive-thru after a night out, any day." - Kayla Sager-Riley
