"Stepping into Banhwich in the Outer Sunset feels like you’ve transported yourself into a bygone world where Circuit City and Blockbuster are still on every corner. This tiny takeout counter with 13 different types of bánh mì is decked out with a ‘90s-style fridge with faux-wood paneling and an incandescent light that looks like it belongs on the set of Office Space. While we love all these little touches, it isn’t enough to guarantee a good meal. Disappointingly each sandwich is absolutely dominated by shredded carrots and vinegar that push any other flavors out.
