Radio Alice Pizzeria

Pizza restaurant · Hoxton

"Every restaurant in London right now seems to need a “story” or a “concept” associated with it. The concept at Radio Alice, the pizzeria, is that they don’t know how to make pizza. Of course, Radio Alice would tell you otherwise - their “concept” is that they cook the pizza base BEFORE putting on the toppings. They also seem to make a tomato sauce that doesn’t taste like anything. On top of that, if you show up once they’re out of dough for the day, you’re out of luck, which happened to us on our first attempt to eat here. Being turned away from a pizza place because they ran out of pizza dough is a new low, even for us. We appreciate new ideas and we appreciate creativity - but this is pizza. Put everything together, shove it in that fancy oven, and give the people what they want. There’s a concept for you." - Eileen Twum
