"Rasta Pasta’s new stall in upscale Waterworks Food Hall is a polished step up from its now-closed Kensington Market location, though the menu is pared down. You won’t be able to order oxtail or curry goat, or be greeted by the tantalizing aroma of pimento smoke like before, but the famous jerk chicken is still here, and still excellent. Marinated for two days before hitting the grill, the legs have a smoky-sweet crust that’s a touch more jerky-like than the suppler smoked jerk pork. You can get either protein piled over fluffy rice and beans, wrapped into roti for an easy to-go bite, or tucked into coco bread with a sweet homemade slaw. And, of course, there’s the namesake pasta, tossing gnocchi and jerk chicken in a creamy Alfredo sauce, deeply flavored by a dusting of processed parm." - Renée Suen
