"Behind a massive door that looks like it came from the Medieval Castle Exteriors aisle at Home Depot, the Dram Shop is a family-friendly Park Slope bar. The booths inside are equally enormous, easily seating six, and possibly more if your party contains kids—who are welcome before 9pm, and even eat free on Saturdays (as long as their accompanying grownup spends $20). photo credit: Kate Previte photo credit: Kate Previte photo credit: Kate Previte photo credit: Kate Previte photo credit: Kate Previte The most important reason to come here is the very good burger, which is like a South Brooklyn cousin of the one at Bernie’s. But the Dram Shop’s other charms include a pool table, a backyard, and plenty of TVs tuned to sports. This is a Packers bar, and they do right by the Midwest with some quite respectable cheese curds, too. Food Rundown photo credit: Kate Previte Dram Burger This cheesy burger with a sesame seed-crusted bun maintains great structural integrity even with two substantial patties, shredded lettuce and tomato, mandolined pickle slices, and a cheeky dash of mustard. photo credit: Kate Previte Pulled Pork Sandwich Another good option. The house-smoked pork is smoky and sweet. Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich The flavor’s nice enough, but the sandwich is off-puttingly wet. Skip. photo credit: Kate Previte Fried Cheese Curds Great, lightly fried curds that are much too easy to eat. We’re just not crazy about the relatively personality-free chipotle-tomato dipping sauce—consider asking for a side of ranch instead." - Molly Fitzpatrick
