Each week this Ukrainian restaurant undergoes the kind of transformation usually reserved for high schoolers in ’90s tween movies. On weekdays it’s a shy, quiet place where you might be eating alone. But by the weekend, the DJ rolls up, the dancefloor sees constant action, and you’ll wonder if you’ve crashed a 21st birthday party (it could easily be a 50th too). Whatever you choose—multi-generational dance-off or sleepy Thursday night in Forest Gate—the food is decent and comfortingly traditional.
