"On a Greenpoint corner, Bagel Joint is a bright, pleasant spot to wait for your sandwich—which is a good thing, because getting a bagel here can take some time. Run by a Jewish and Taiwanese couple, this former Smorgasburg pop-up boils up miso bagels dusted with nori and sesame, gochujang bagels, duck egg bagels and more. The flavors are interesting, but they’re let down by a lack of texture in the dough. If you’re expecting the crisp, shattering shell of some of the city’s top bagels go elsewhere. But if you’re in the area and want to shake up your breakfast routine, try their St. Marks Sandwich with smoked tuna on a miso bagel with wasabi cream cheese and cucumber salad. You’ll feel that wasabi schmear in your sinuses immediately. photo credit: Will Hartman photo credit: Will Hartman photo credit: Eric Azaren" - Will Hartman
