"The Bull is the kind of Highgate neighbourhood pub where pint accomplices like sausage sandwiches come with Baron Bigod cheese and the croquettes are filled with lobster. Thanks to its location in Quaint Celebrityville, you’ll likely be surrounded by brave folk who are juggling a loft conversion, a fraught email chain with their publisher, and three small humans who’ve managed to get beetroot hummus down their Trotters finest. Outside of those rich, moreish lobster croquettes, a lot of the dishes read more fancy schmancy than they taste, and you might be in for a long wait for some dry lamb during the Sunday lunch service. Still, the downstairs bar area is a nice spot for a lazy, low-key pint, and if the gods of cosiness are on your side, you might even be able to secure the armchairs in front of the fireplace." - Heidi Lauth Beasley
