"Whatever the reason you find yourself at Alamo Square—like showing some visiting friends the Painted Ladies or just going on a walk to observe all the Victorians you’ll never be able to afford—Banh Mi Viet is a solid spot to get a bánh mì and an eye-popping iced coffee on the go (they’re takeout-only). These bánh mì are average: the bread is a bit tough and none of the vegetables have any of that vinegary kick, but the smoky lemongrass beef is the sandwich's saving grace.
