Malai - Review - Rittenhouse - Philadelphia - The Infatuation
"Malai, which hails from NYC, is a bright pink ice cream shop in Rittenhouse with Indian-inspired scoops. Line up at the counter for cherry black cardamom, pistachio soft serve, or the vegan passionfruit cilantro (our favorite, which happens to be more like a sorbet). You don’t see many shops with flavors like this in town, but unfortunately, you don’t taste much of the flavors either—both the cinnamon honeybun and mango cream tasted like a basic vanilla with little of the exciting elements to be found. 1-900-ICE-CREAM is still the way to go in the neighborhood, but keep Malai in your back pocket when the line wraps around 20th Street. photo credit: Alison B.
