"Biting into a panzerotto at Panzerotti Bites in Carroll Gardens makes us wish that every frozen pizza pocket of our youth would take a trip to Puglia to learn a thing or two. They’re made to order, so you can watch while a small circle of pizza dough is filled, sealed, and deep-fried, emerging as a crisp golden pocket oozing so satisfyingly with cheese and red sauce that you might forget you are here to eat, not stare. Get the classic or the artichoke—they also have sweet panzerotti, and nearly everything is under $10. There are tables inside, but it’s pretty dark, so eat in the backyard under hot pink umbrellas or take your panzerotto to go.
