"This spot next to Allianz Park (home to Brazil’s most successful football club of recent years, Palmeiras) is a São Paulo institution. With a long marble bar and a few tables, it’s a familiar set-up in South America. Some of the waiters, in their sharp white outfits, look like they’ve been here since it opened in 1975. Perch at the bar, order a pastel (a deep-fried pastry filled with meat or cheese), and stay as long as you like. The pastries here are flaky, generously filled, and just the right size to make you order another—we love the pizza flavor with cheese, tomato, and oregano.
