"Jolene isn’t exactly an empire. But its homespun ceramics, bountiful pastries, and increasingly ridiculous merch (a sauna hat, anyone?) is now to be found across multiple locations in north east London. Thismini-bakery, opposite Islington Green and a convenient two-minute stroll from Angel station, is a useful pit stop for a flat white and bulging cinnamon roll on a Friday morning. It’s all terracotta tones with a country-ish attitude inside and, although there’s space to stand, sip, and tear apart a pain au chocolat or a sandwich, don’t bet on it.
