Seal Rock Inn Restaurant makes up for fine food with great views - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"After closing in 2020, Seal Rock Inn Restaurant reopened under new ownership with a French twist. But the main draw of the Lands End diner is still the location—it’s perched about as close as you can get to the Pacific without needing to squeeze into a wetsuit. The bistro-meets-diner-classics include goat cheese scrambles, benedicts with brioche, and french toast served with creme anglaise. They’re tasty, but nothing you’ll be pining for days later. It doesn’t matter, though, since you’re really here to admire the seals etched on the glass booth dividers, gaze out through the huge ocean-facing windows, and remind yourself why you still subject yourself to the California housing market. Or at the very least, sip an old-school hot chocolate with a tuft of whipped cream. photo credit: Julia Chen photo credit: Julia Chen Food Rundown French Toast A syrup-soaked success. Order one (or two) for the table. PlayMute video credit: Julia Chen Housemade Sausage Peppery and salty-sweet, this is a great addition to any egg plate—or just order some as a side. Mushroom Tartine This comes on a round piece of housemade focaccia, but it gets soggy fast, so you end up just eating straight mushrooms with a fork. Breakfast Banh Mi Sandwich A decent sandwich with bacon, a fried egg, and pickled vegetables. It’s fine, but lacks the promised spicy punch." - Julia Chen
