"The moment you walk into Saby’s and smell cafe de olla and chorizo mingling in the air you'll realize you're in for a comforting meal. This family-owned daytime spot in Mar Vista makes delicious Mexican breakfast and lunch staples from scratch, like the blue corn tortillas used in their football-sized quesadillas and the pulpy salsas spooned over the huevos divorciados. If you pull up to Saby’s counter for lunch, order the mar y tierra burrito, which is one of LA’s best burritos. It’s tightly packed with breaded shrimp and charred asada, so you get double the crispiness, all doused in a tangy chipotle crema. photo credit: Sylvio Martins Food Rundown Quesadilla You can choose what grilled protein you want in this enormous quesadilla, but we prefer grilled mushrooms to keep it light. This thing is hefty: Saby’s fills this behemoth with tons of milky quesillo that stretches like taffy when you cut into it. This one does.
