"Backstreet Cafe in River Oaks—from the folks behind Hugo's, Caracol, and Xochi—takes outdoor dining seriously, given that the entire American restaurant is centered around a large brick patio with a giant fountain. It’s easy to feel like a professional relaxation quotient evaluator, lounging under a striped awning outside or beneath a giant bird painting inside.
