"Even after all the falafel and katsu market stalls are long gone for the day, Leather Lane is a seriously buzzy place. And Gebeta, an Ethiopian spot with a steady stream of regulars, is never quiet either. Sit out front for grimy London charm meets alfresco dining and you’ll overhear conversations between the local shop owners about their plans for the evening, watch colleagues battle with Google Maps in search of the nearest post-work pint, and enjoy a nice breeze while you pull apart at soft injera. Inside it’s significantly more tame: beautiful murals cover the walls and handwoven baskets are hung all over. Friends sit on the lime green banquette seating and couples take the window seat while they work their way through a two-person platter. Get the Gebeta special for a nice mix of everything—the tender lamb tibs is particularly good. Food Rundown Gebeta Special The perfect order for one, it comes with rich lamb tibs, a chicken leg, and some vegetarian stews—our favourite being the satisfying misir wat (a moreish red lentil stew). Once you eat most of the stews, make sure to get involved in the soaked injera at the bottom for the tangiest, most flavourful part." - Rianne Shlebak
