"Small menu font. Adorable monster logo. Mushroom toast made with She Wolf bread. If you've been to a pleasant generic wine bar, Cecily is nothing new, and that's why we like it. This reliable Greenpoint bar with great snacks (and a few entrees too) is so useful for the neighborhood. It comes to mind for an early-in-the-game date where you pick at food, chat nervously, and don't eat the last bite of fish even though you are going to be so hungry later. Or maybe use it as a pre-dinner warm-up before heading somewhere else in the neighborhood. You've had this little gems salad and those cucumbers slick with sesame before, and that's because the flavor combos work. In a former art gallery with odd angles and trapezoidal ceilings, Cecily has a cute (but maybe not sexy) feel and plenty of same-side booth seating that’ll charm your date without the pressure that comes with a fancier restaurant." - Arden Shore
