"Even on a random Thursday night, candlelit Casa Paco hums with energy, full of old friends sipping on cider-like Basque Old Fashioneds. You might not expect to find an amazing Spanish restaurant in Little Italy, which is actually more karaage than carbonara these days. But this moody spot on the main floor of an antique house is full of clued-in diners who come for cured wagyu with truffle and garlicky pan con tomate on impossibly light crystal bread, so shatteringly crisp that it vanishes with each bite. On Sundays, it’s all about paella, featuring a special set menu with Bomba rice and whatever’s fresh (maybe iberico pork, or rabbit, or scallops) are cooked over live coals to form a golden socarrat that deserves its own fan club." - Renée Suen
