"Cafe W went viral for the cronigiri—also known as the onioissant—which is exactly what it sounds like. The Flushing bakery makes an onigiri-shaped croissant, pipes mayo and pollack roe into it, and finishes it with a small square of seaweed. It’s sticky sweet on the outside and creamy and fishy on the inside, and it’s not necessarily anything we’d ever eat again. Still, if you’re in the area and you need somewhere to do work, the large space has high ceilings, lots of tables, and other baked goods, like matcha croissants and lemon croissants. Serve yourself something sweet from the self-serve pastry area, round out your order with a black sesame milkshake, and then use all that sugar to get some work done. There’s also a parking lot out front, if that means anything to you. photo credit: Kate Previte" - Willa Moore
