Prioritize the fruity matchas and slushies at Yoka Tea - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Despite a small menu, this bright and friendly Madrona spot covers the cutesy drink trinity: matcha, coffee, and boba tea. The matcha stands out the most, even when mixed with thick fruit purees like roasted banana and strawberry that might make a texture snob squirm. We love the green grape slushie, too. And while there’s definitely better boba in Seattle, and the desserts are more of a side note, this makes for a great relaxed hideout when a steady flow of caffeine is needed to get work done. Food Rundown Turon Matcha The nutty roasted banana puree definitely needs a good, long stir before diving in, but eventually you find yourself sipping just to chase the little caramelized chunks. They add a nice sugary pop that plays surprisingly well with the matcha. photo credit: Kayla Sager-Riley OG Croffle A plastic knife is simply no match for this tough waffleized croissant, but damn, does it taste good. Topped with vanilla bean-speckled pastry cream and fresh strawberries, we’d be perfectly content scraping the top and calling it a day. photo credit: Makena Yee Sac Sac Slushie Wait, this Nickelodeon slime-colored slush is actually incredible. With a velvety texture and tart grape essence soothed by a splash of cream, we see your frozen margaritas of summer and raise you a refreshing sac sac from Yoka. Slurp it liberally. photo credit: Makena Yee Yoka Einspanner Sometimes, a creamy coffee can go off the rails, but this one isn’t too sweet. Try it if you require a bolder cup but also want to feel included in the Greater Cold Foam Collective (you know, the GCFC). photo credit: Makena Yee Brown Sugar Boba It’s frustrating enough that the boba has unpredictable levels of availability—but when it is available, it just tastes like sugar-pumped milk without any hints of tea. We appreciate the soft tapioca pearls, but you can skip this in favor of matcha and coffee. photo credit: Makena Yee" - Kayla Sager-Riley
