"Los Compadres is a corridor of a Mexican spot in Stoke Newington, and while it might be small, it’s got a mighty array of toppings and tasty, forearm-sized burritos. The burritos are the thing to get and we’d recommend you take the more-is-more approach with toppings. Pineapple is a must, so are the salsas, and the best strategy is to say “yes” until the friendly staff are forced to say, “you just want everything, don’t you?”. Los Compadres is a grab-and-go spot, and you're best eating your haul as soon as possible. Food Rundown video credit: Sinéad Cranna Chicken Al Pastor Burrito Chewy, generously stuffed, and structurally sound enough to hold up to a greedy amount of toppings—which is the right amount. The chicken is soft and mildly spiced, but still flavourful. We like eating these over a long, lazy Friday lunchtime. photo credit: Sinéad Cranna Grilled Veg Tacos The tacos themselves lack flavour and we found this grilled vegetable filling caused them to become waterlogged and soggy. Skip these. video credit: Sinéad Cranna Shredded Chipotle Beef Burrito Bowl This is the kind of massive bowl we could eat on repeat and convince ourselves it's the healthy option. Fluffy rice comes piled high with your choice of toppings—the pineapple and pickled onions are juicy and tangy, and complement the rich, fall-apart beef perfectly." - Sinéad Cranna
