"Gatehouse’s prix fixe menus might be the best value in Napa County. The stained-glass-filled restaurant is located at the Culinary Institute of America, and is run entirely by hospitality hopefuls who serve a $60, three-course menu. For $10 more, you can throw caution to the wind and go for the four-course experience, but both are full of generously portioned dishes. The inspiration for the menu is rooted in Mexican cooking, so think tender chicken breasts smothered in decadent mole poblano and squash blossom tlacoyos sprinkled with epazote and Oaxaca cheese. Mix and match courses depending on what you’d like to split with the table, but be warned: the ancho chile dark chocolate pudding with a heaping scoop of malted chantilly cream is almost too good to share." - Jasmine Alexandra
