"This Marietta Street flagship has a mural that proudly chronicles Big Dave’s journey from a small operation in a Dunwoody gas station to the first of many brick-and-mortar locations across the Southeast. This expansion is all thanks to their giant, gooey cheesesteaks that do a bang-up job of bringing the taste of Philly to the South. They stuff Amoroso rolls with thinly shaved steak, salmon, chicken and mushroom. We always get the classic beef and order it “Dave’s Way.” That gets you onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and banana peppers (which adds a bit of sweetness), and it's all melded together with three cheeses (american, provolone, and cheez whiz). Take a seat inside or on the patio for a casual meal that’ll demand lots of napkins. Food Rundown video credit: Juli Horsford Cheesesteak The best order here is the original beef, done Dave’s Way. The thinly sliced beef is just salty and greasy enough to make the Philly transplants start eyeing our city light poles for a spontaneous celebration. Cheesesteak With Chicken The soft Amoroso rolls hold up well under any protein choice, and the chicken is a nice runner-up to the beef. The chicken is chopped, stays moist, and works better with the melty cheese than the salmon. Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls Big chunks of chicken are slathered in spicy buffalo sauce and stuffed into a flaky egg roll. This is solid if you’re extra hungry, but you’re really here for the cheesesteaks. photo credit: Juli Horsford" - Juli Horsford
