The Tang

Chinese noodle restaurant · Upper West Side

"The Tang specializes in noodles. They serve 12 different kinds (from dan dan noodles to pork knuckle noodles), and all of them cost $15 or less. More importantly, they’re delicious. We especially like their signature the beef noodle soup with incredibly tender beef, a smokey egg, and a mildly spicy broth that we’d drink by the gallon. Bring a friend for a quick weeknight meal or just grab a stool at the counter and eat a bowl of noodles by yourself. And if you need to supplement your noodles, there are also a bunch of small plates like beef tartare, fried oysters, and pork dumplings in chili oil. As for the space, it’s sleek and minimalist with tiled floors and a dark-grey color scheme, and it’s perfect for a relatively affordable night out on the Upper West Side." - Bryan Kim
