"If you're an oyster connoisseur, it's probably safe to say you've had your fair share of them raw. And you've likely tried them fried, and maybe you're the sort of person whose eyes light up at the sight of oysters Rockefeller. But we’re going to go ahead and guess that you’ve never had oysters jerked, and that should change. Flatbush Oyster Co. specializes in grilled jerked oysters, and you can find the Panamanian pop-up at some of our favorite Brooklyn bars, like King Tai, and Frog. The bivalves are sourced from Long Island day-of for all of their events—keep an eye on their Instagram for upcoming dates, and then go slurp down a few dozen. Their pop-up menus have other things too. Recent additional offerings have included shrimp rolls, and oxtail-stuffed wings. photo credit: Flatbush Oyster Co photo credit: Flatbush Oyster Co photo credit: Flatbush Oyster Co Food Rundown photo credit: Alex Staniloff Jerked Oysters The oysters are very fresh, topped with homemade jerk seasoning and butter, and then grilled just enough so that they're warm, but still slippery and sweet. A half-dozen will run you around $20." - Willa Moore
