"Similar to many Vietnamese spots along Argyle, Phở Loan in Uptown has a long menu with phở, tapioca shrimp dumplings, and bò lúc lắc. But their Southern Vietnamese specialties are the main reason you’ll find us in their small dining room. We especially like the bánh khọt with mini rice pancakes topped with herbs and little shrimp, or their excellent bún cá trà vinh. Each bowl of lemongrassy fish broth has some spice and comes with vermicelli, fish patties, tender pieces of catfish, and pickled greens that punch up each bite. And while it’s common to find regulars catching up with the owner, Phở Loan is never too busy. It's always reliable for a spontaneous bowl of soup. photo credit: Jack X. Li" - John Ringor
