Newroz - Review - Nolensville Pike - Nashville - The Infatuation
"In the center of Nashville’s Little Kurdistan, hidden behind rows of U-Haul trucks, you’ll find Newroz. There are a lot of markets in the area, but this is many families’ one-stop shop for halal meat, fresh pita, and shawarma. Go for the beef on lavash because you’ll get that perfect meat-to-bread ratio and chewy-to-crispy quotient. Like any good shawarma spot, they’ll ask you if you want garlic sauce, and you will of course say yes. Just know that they can be very generous with the toppings, almost too generous, so we often ask for light toppings to protect the structural integrity of the shawarma. If you don’t want to deal with crowds, avoid coming on Fridays from 11:45am-1:45pm.
