DaiFuku Ramen

Ramen restaurant · South Loop

"Daifuku is a good option if you want some ramen before or after hanging out in Chinatown Square. It's often busy with noodle slurpers working through garlicky spicy tonkotsu (their signature), chicken miso, or the one veggie bowl for anyone at the center of the “Ramen Lover and Vegetarian” Venn diagram. Overall, the broths, noodles, and toppings—like a jammy egg—are solid, though the pork chashu has an unpleasant gelatinous texture. But if you’re a spice lover, avoid the higher spice levels of the signature ramen. It’s got plenty of heat, but no flavor to make all the sweating worth it. photo credit: John Ringor" - John Ringor
