"Violetto, at the Alila Napa Valley hotel, is the ideal fine-dining experience for anyone who shies away from inflated fuss or off-the-wall experimentation. You can choose the $175, eight-course menu or orderàla carte, but we like the $125, four-course option, which won’t leave you craving a midnight snack. There’s a strong Italian influence in the food, but also subtle nods to French cuisine, highlighted in the glazes, sauces, and fruit-forward reductions. You can (and should) add on the decadent potato rosti topped with caviar and gold flakes before being served a Dungeness crab scarpinoccin a toro pepper base, and the fresh fig dessert with pudding-like pistachio and white chocolate ganache crumbles. The intimate dining room is inside a Georgian mansion and feels like a Goop retreat in upstate New York, making it perfect for date night or birthday celebration." - Jasmine Alexandra
