It throws some sweetness to the mix, balancing out the salty meat and creamy combination of cheese and mayo. There’s also a nice range of texture in the chunky but surprisingly airy bread, from its crackly outside to the soft inside that does a great job of absorbing the dressing and vegetable juices.
