"Hungry Cubs fans are lucky enough to have a bevy of fine food options across from their historic Wrigley Field. Now, Boka Restaurant Group, in partnership with Hickory Street Capital, is adding their hat to the ring with the opening of Dutch & Doc’s, a two-story, 200-seat brasserie-style restaurant adjacent to the new-ish Hotel Zachary. This is a dream for Boka’s co-founders/lifelong Cubbies’ fans Kevin Boehm and Rob Katz; the name is a salute to two of the most popular nicknames in the franchise’s history. Designed by AvroKO, a marble horseshoe-shaped bar sits centerstage on the first floor, while the vibe upstairs is reminiscent of early American public houses featuring a series of intimate single table nooks, as well as a second small bar, all bedecked with brass and leather details. Guests can sit with views of the iconic marquee at Wrigley Field while noshing on food by chef/Boka alum Chris Pandel. Finger foods include crab and corn fritters with tartar sauce, chilled spinach-artichoke dip served in a brioche bowl, and crispy pork ribs with a sticky soy glaze, chiles, cilantro and mint. Fried chicken thighs with cornmeal biscuits, pimento cheese and slaw, a three-cheese cavatappi mac and cheese, and fish and chips with tartar sauce serve as hefty dinner items, perfect as a base for those $12 beers inside the ballpark. A pub burger featuring two patties piled high with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and a super secret sauce is also available. Chef Lauren Terrill—also a Boka alum—runs the pastry program. Nostalgic sweet treats include a strawberry shortcake with whipped cream and strawberry-basil jam, peach crisp with oat crumble, and salted caramel or vanilla bean soft-serve ice cream." - Abbe Baker
