"Set within Banff National Park and just removed from Alberta's Lake Louise, I found The Lodge at Bow Lake to feel like an intimate, elegant family home in the Rocky Mountain wilderness: constructed of logs with a bright red roof and offering only 17 rooms, the century-old property pairs modern guestrooms with pine wood panels and handmade furniture, while suites add Japanese soaking tubs. The lodge invites you to turn off your phone and watch the views from a crackling fire—especially during Northern Lights season—and although it's a hard property to venture from, spectacular hiking and skiing trails, canyons and waterfalls sit just outside and Lake Louise is a half-hour's drive away; be sure to return in time for the nightly four-course dinner served promptly at 6:30 p.m." - The MICHELIN Guide
