"Run by Linda and Steve for decades, this less-corporate Rome hostel is a great social spot that still allows a good night’s sleep: they organize nightly events (quizzes, happy hours, pizza nights), maintain a WhatsApp group so travelers can coordinate plans, and offer both an indoor lounge and an outdoor courtyard plus two fully equipped guest kitchens and showers with very nice water pressure. Beds and pillows are comfy, there are female-only rooms, and HostelPass members get 10% off, but note there’s no 24/7 reception so you can’t arrive late." - Matthew Kepnes
