Where to Stay in Oaxaca on Your Trip (Updated 2025)

"Just a 10-minute walk to the main square, this social hostel has a chill rooftop bar with panoramic city views—perfect for relaxing, enjoying a delicious breakfast, or sipping local Mexican cocktails at sunset. The beds are comfy with thick mattresses and dorms have privacy curtains so you can sleep decently; there are even female-only dorms for added privacy and security. There’s always something going on here—food tours, mezcal tastings, and more—so it’s easy to meet other travelers. The on-site restaurant offers vegetarian options, and it’s my go-to hostel in the city." - Matthew Kepnes
